CLG vs Team Dignitas

To close things out, we have a fairly fascinating clash between Counter Logic Gaming and Team Dignitas. Now, there's really no reason to tune in if you're looking for top-tier play. That's just a fact. These two teams are by no means good or mind-blowingly skilled. In fact, it's quite the opposite. They struggle in most facets of play, they're sloppy in execution, they're not quite sure what to do when they have a lead, and their individual play also leaves a lot to be desired as well.

Overall, not exactly a premier match-up. Still, if you're following those juicy LCS storylines and are a fan of these two age-old organizations, then this should be sufficiently entertaining, especially if you're someone who enjoys a good old fashioned fiesta. This was looking like a surefire win for Dignitas up until yesterday when Counter Logic Gaming made the world take notice -- the way they outclassed the Golden Guardians was absolutely astonishing. GGS was regarded as one of the better teams as well, and it wasn't like CLG was given their win on a silver platter.

Instead, they fought through thick and thin, came out with a spectacular draft (highlighted by Ruin's Volibear) and did basically everything right. Now, granted, GGS still isn't as strong as they're predicted to eventually become, but they have some insanely talented players and were expected to best CLG with relative ease (in no small part because of their stellar jungle/mid duo). But that didn't happen for a wide variety of reasons. In fact, they couldn't even compete with the way CLG came out of the gates. They were far cleaner in execution than anyone expected, so it's fair to say that no one's quite sure how strong they currently are and whether or not they have what it takes to eventually reach the playoffs. Right now, they're sitting on a very commendable 2W-1L record and don't look half bad for a team that was the laughing stock of the region mere weeks ago.

Dignitas, on the other hand, are still impossible to read. There's a lot of talent on their roster but whether or not they can fully utilize it is a completely different matter. They're far too rough around the edges, and they've failed to show much last week. Obviously, as time goes on they're bound to improve in more ways than one, but it's hard giving them our full benefit of the doubt this early on into the split. If they start off well they can tango with the best teams North America has to offer (at least early on) but that's rarely the case. They're also far from infallible and almost always make an egregious call in the mid and later stages of the game.

We're gonna side with Counter Logic Gaming on this one. They're by no means a competitive behemoth, but they've shown a lot more over the last two weeks and actually have concrete momentum coming into this game. All of that said, seeing how both teams are still struggling to maintain any kind of consistency, expect an extremely close game that will be decided by the slimmest of margins.
