Cloud9 vs CLG
Yet another one-sided beatdown in the making. It's just hard to get excited about such mismatches when there's no chance whatsoever for the underdog to win. From a betting perspective, that's an absolute dream, but if you're into watching competitive League, it's not the most alluring of set-ups.
The gap between these two teams is as large as it gets, which doesn't mean CLG won't be able to trade blows should Finn, Broxah, and Pobelter play to the best of their ability. CLG, as a whole, are immensely flawed, but they're an experienced, feisty bunch, and they deserve a bit of respect. Still, we saw just how good Cloud9 can be whenever they get on the same page and execute on their game plan. The fact that they got a perfect game over FlyQuest with such staggering ease is simply astounding. They gave up no kills, no dragons, no Barons, and not even a single turret. For FlyQuest, it was wholly embarrassing. For Cloud9, though, it was an absolute masterclass, and a much-needed burst of momentum.
In any case, we simply have to go with the defending champions on this one. They're better across the board and have finally adjusted to the current meta after coming back from Reykjavik, Iceland. They're still not quite as clean as was the case back in Spring (which should come as no surprise seeing how they've decided to bench Zven and promote their Academy ADC K1ng), but they're nonetheless immensely dangerous and will no doubt look to get yet another statement win on the board. Be that as it may, Counter Logic Gaming always tend to play to the level of their opponents. They won't win, mind you, but they'll definitely make it interesting!
