Cloud9 vs Evil Geniuses
Cloud9 vs. Evil Geniuses has “fireworks” written all over it! Well, the game itself probably won’t be all that competitive, but Evil Geniuses will no doubt make things a lot more interesting than expected, in their well-known, patended ways: unfiltered aggression, a boatload of bravado, and an unjustified amount of confidence. They’re severely flawed, but they always try their hardest which is why we love watching them. Whenever they’re scheduled to compete, one thing is basically guaranteed: you will not be bored or disappointed. You might not witness the most layered macro of the best League of Legends overall, but EG deliver in a wholly unique — and a most entertaining — way. They’re fun to watch, but if you’re not into fiestas or clashes that are void of any depth and nuance, then you’d best look elsewhere.
Moreover, their win over Team Liquid meant one thing and one thing only: they are not to be trifled with. They have the tools to compete, but they’re rarely capable of truly getting on the same page and executing to the best of their ability. They’re untameable, for better *and* worse. Still, what they lack in refinement they more than make up for in sheer grit and determination. They’ll either succeed in their plans and efforts or implode trying. There’s nothing in between.
Cloud9, on the other hand, are once again riding high after stringing a couple of very impressive wins. They’re still not as dangerous as they were back in Spring, but they’re not far off either. Furthermore, K1ng might not be as capable as the man he replaced, but he’s solid enough and that’s the only thing that matters at this point in time. They’re still making unforced errors but they’re undeniably one of the best-performing teams in North America and will surely get the “W” against Evil Geniuses tonight as well.
