Dallas Fuel vs New York Excelsior
For our last match of the day we have a clash between the New York Excelsior and the Dallas Fuel. This doesn't really carry any playoff implications nor will it make the difference in the overall standings, but it's still a nice chance of New York to pad their record and attain an even greater map differential. (which could always come in handy if they decide to slack off a bit in Stage 4)
New York went back to their dominant roots last week and it was a pleasure to watch. After dropping just a single map to the San Francisco Shock they stringed seven straight map wins - and four of those seven were against Seoul Dynasty. It was a dominant, one-sided shellacking from New York and after a while it wasn't even engaging. Seoul failed to mount any kind of offensive and eventually just surrendered both mentally and in-game.
As for Dallas they failed to put up much of a fight against Philadelphia Fusion yesterday and you really can't blame them. With a salvaged line-up there was only so much they could do but they never really stopped trying which is highly commendable. They all played somewhat well and you could really see that they have the tools within the roster to play at a high level - they're just not very proficient in playing the right way. If anything, Seagull had another sensational performance on Mei, Junkrat and his favorite Hanzo. (especially on Junkertown) AKM played well on both Soldier and Widowmaker and you could notice overall improvements from other members as well like Mickie and Cocco. (barring a couple of highly questionable Reinhardt plays and charges) They're far from dominant or in-sync but at least they're trying and it's a promising sign of what's to come for Stage 4 and the second season.
As always, it's highly recommended to bet on New York Excelsior regardless of the opponent. (other than three slip-ups, two of which were impossible to really predict) This time around they're up against one of the worst teams in the entire League and even though Dallas showed signs of life they're still far from being able to compete with the Excelsior. Without EFFECT in the line-up, this should be a rather quick and dominant showing from New York.
