Edward Gaming vs DetonatioN Gaming

This, in short, is the most lopsided match-up of the day. Heck, it's not even remotely close. And, as such, there's not a whole lot that we can say about it that wouldn't be wholly redundant. We all know EDward Gaming are one of the biggest favorites to win the whole tournament. They've nigh unstoppable thus far and have made very few mistakes regardless of whom they were up against. Whether they'll maintain such excellence still remains to be seen, but the odds are definitely stacked in their favor.

DetonatioN FocusMe, on the other hand, have pretty much been the punching bag of their group. They've done next to nothing thus far and have been outclassed by both T1 and 100 Thieves as if they were a bunch of scrubs rather than a team of professional players. But that was to be expected given the immense gap between the LJL and all other major regions. DFM's historic success (i.e. reaching the Group Stage) is more than enough and they've earned everyone's respect for it. Trading blows with the "big dogs," however, is a whole 'nother challenge, and they're obviously not capable enough meet it — far from a shame, all things considered.

There's just no way whatsoever for them to actually put up a fight against the LPL champions — assuming EDG don't fool around and do a bit of "limit testing." They might make a good play or two, but as a whole, they simply pale in comparison.

So, naturally, we simply have to side with EDward Gaming on this one. We'd seriously be surprised if DetonatioN FocusMe were to survive for longer than thirty minutes — that would be a small triumph in and of itself, although it's not what one would consider a "consolation prize."
