FlyQuest vs CLG

Finally, we have FlyQuest vs. Counter Logic Gaming to close out the day. This isn't exactly a premier match-up, but it should be an exciting one nonetheless. These two teams are fairly similar in regards to strength and potential, but after seeing Counter Logic Gaming in action yesterday, it's fair to say that they'll need a bit of time before reaching their 2019 form. Crown and Smoothie are great pickups overall, but their synergy was lacking, to say the least.

The fact that they lost to Dignitas wasn't such a big problem, but rather the fashion in which it all occurred. They were solid individually, but once they had to transition over to the mid and later stages of the game they completely fell apart. They need iron many problems out and that takes time. At least they were aggressive and seemingly proactive, but the moves they ended up making often weren't the correct ones. Fortunately, they issues can easily be solved with the right guidance. Still, they're far from a top-tier challenger at this point in time. The amount of talent that's present within their line-up is very respectable, but it's just not "clicking" in the right way.

Opposite them, we have FlyQuest. Now, they're also going through some growing pains, but their problems were far less evident in their clash against Immortals. They took their time, drafted a fantastic team comp that emphasized their strengths, and once they attained the right item and level spikes, they started playing like the FlyQuest of old. Aggressive, proactive, always willing to throw down regardless of the state of the game with a penchant for high-octane five-on-five teamfighting. Their synergy didn't take a hit primarily because PowerOfEvil and IgNar want to play the game in the exact same way -- they carry a good chunk of the FlyQuest DNA.

With five mechanically talented players who constantly want to skirmish, this FlyQuest line-up is definitely a dangerous challenger. They might not reach the top of the region, but they're very capable regardless. They know what they're strongest at and are playing to their (relatively one-dimensional) win conditions.

In many ways, this is a clash between two seemingly equal contenders. They both have a fair bit of potential, but will need more time before actually realizing it. Still, this one game will give us a better look into where each team is at, and what we can expect from them going forward. We're siding with FlyQuest on this one although it can truly go either way, especially if Counter Logic Gaming fixed a couple of glaring problems from yesterday.
