FlyQuest vs Team SoloMid
Next up, we have a fairly interesting clash between Team SoloMid and FlyQuest. Now, let's not build up any unnecessary suspense: the boys in black and white are favored, and it's easy to understand why. Their first three games of the split were absolutely mesmerizing from start to finish, and if they keep playing at such a high level, it'll be nigh impossible not to consider them as one of the biggest favorites to win the whole split. They're not perfect -- as evidenced by their loss to 100 Thieves -- but they're undeniably one of the best teams in North America right now and have a very coherent identity.
FlyQuest, on the other hand, have looked both hot and cold. Their "hot" games were pretty solid albeit far from spectacular. Their "cold" ones, though, were as cold as it gets. It's quite rare that a team losses a game without getting even a single objective, and yet that's precisely what happened yesterday when they faced off against Cloud9. No dragons, no Barons, no kills, and not even a single turret. Cloud9 dismantled them in every which way. At first it was all fun and games, but then after a certain point it became a bit hard to watch -- these are professional players, after all, and yet they were beaten to a pulp without ever mounting an offensive. Crushing, to say the least.
So, naturally, we have to go with Team SoloMid on this one. They might've lost a bit of steam after dropping the ball to a very game 100 Thieves, but they're still amongst the best teams in the LCS and will surely prove it against FlyQuest tonight as well. Whether they'll dominate or not still remains to be seen, but if we had to take a wild stab in the dark, we'd say that they're probably motivated beyond belief to get back to their winning ways, so expect an absolute shellacking!
