G2 Esports vs Rogue

Finally, to close out the day, we have a fantastic clash between G2 Esports and Rogue. If there's one game you absolutely need to watch this week, make sure it's this one. G2 Esports has all but locked in first place. By the same token, Rogue's Top 6 finish is all but a given at this point. This means neither team *has* to win, but emerging victorious would do wonders for their confidence and momentum going forward.

If that's not a big enough reason to watch, both teams are downright insane in the way they play the game and rarely hold back any punches. Five on five skirmishing on level one in the middle of the jungle? Check. Invades and flash engages? Check. All-ins from the moment minions reach the lane? Check.

Both teams love to fight from the very get-go, and they also have more than enough mechanical prowess to actually realize many of their creative ideas and strategies. We all know just how capable and talented G2 are, but Rogue have stepped up immensely over the last couple of months as well. They don't have any glaring weakness, which doesn't necessarily mean they're perfect (spoiler: that's far from the case). Still, they often play to the level of their opponents and love to skirmish from the moment they spawn on the Summoner's Rift.

Their decision-making, however, often leaves a lot to be desired. When things are going their way, they're an absolute behemoth, but if they weren't able to initially impose their playstyle, they tend to struggle -- a lot. If the game reaches a stalemate, they tend to withdraw and become a lot more passive. G2 Esports, on the other hand, never stop or slow down. They play the exact same way if they're ahead or behind, and you're never quite sure what they'll do, or which play they'll go for. Whenever G2 Esports competes, there's very little logic or reason behind their decisions -- they play off of instinct. That's why we all love them, and they're actually talented enough to pull off these insane, ill-advised plays.

Rogue share much of the same DNA (especially their top side of the map), but they're just not talented as much. Still, they're individually sound and when they prepare and draft well, they can certainly compete with the best teams in the region. Despite their potential and talent, they were unable to get even a single win against a Top 3 opponent. That's perhaps the most important fact here. No matter how well they start off or how big of lead they accrue in the early game, they always tend to fumble and fail whenever they fighting against an LEC titan.

And G2 Esports is about as big of a titan as they come.

There is this lingering possibility of G2 deciding to troll, now that they've pretty much locked in first place. It certainly wouldn't be the first time they decided to have a bit of fun. Because of this, no one's quite sure how this week-long hiatus has affected them. Are they going to compete with renewed vigor and just steamroll through Rogue? Or will they draft like a bunch of scrubs and proceed to troll in-game? No one's quite sure, so if you're betting on this one, proceed with caution. On paper it's a pretty one-sided clash, but it could pan out differently, depending on which G2 Esports shows up.
