Guangzhou Charge vs Chengdu Hunters
For our first Stage 4 playoffs match we have an exciting clash between the Chengdu Hunters and the Guangzhou Charge.
Seeing how these two competitors already have a rivalry going on, this could end up being a clash for the ages.
As far as history goes, they're tied 1-1 in their overall head-to-head. Their first clash in Stage 1 ended in Chengdu's favor after an insane back and forth affair. The second time they met was much more one-sided -- Guangzhou mopped the floor with their opponents and got the win in 4-0 fashion.
At this point in time, the Guangzhou Charge are playing some insane Overwatch. They are placed ninth in the overall standings with 15 wins and 13 losses (along with a positive 4 map differential). That said, they haven’t lost a match since the second of August when they clashed against the London Spitfire. The Charge is consisted of some of the most flexible players the League has to offer, along with a standout DPS prodigy "Happy" who's proving his worth with each passing week.
The biggest concern coming into the sophomore season was the element of communication. Their team consists of players from 3 different countries which, on paper, should prove to be quite a challenge. But against all odds, they’ve managed to find a way to not only make it work but also dominate far beyond what anyone anticipated.
Their recent win over New York left no one indifferent, and they're definitely considered as a top-tier competitor that's capable of throwing down with anyone in the region. They are able to make impressive transitions, their positioning is always spotless and their mechanical prowess allows them to dictate the pace of the game right from the get-go.
The Hunters may be sitting at a twelfth place with 13 wins and 15 losses (along with a and negative eleven map differential), but the fact that they managed to secure a spot in the playoffs proves their worth.
They were never exceptional but they always did enough to warrant our benefit of the doubt. Their latest match was against the Los Angeles Valiant and they barely managed to secure the win. They were running around with no clear game plan and it showed. Fortunately, they were able to step up in the nick of time and secure the win when it mattered the most.
In the end, we simply have to side with the Guangzhou Charge. They've proven numerous time that they're a better team across the board and they should definitely be more than capable of getting the win tonight.
