Guangzhou Charge vs Seoul Dynasty
Yet another week of Overwatch is ahead of us, and it's quite a fascinating one, to boot! It's still relatively impossible to predict anything with too much confidence when it comes to the bigger picture of the League, but things are definitely starting to heat up.
To start the weekend off, we have a fairly entertaining clash between Seoul and Guangzhou. Seoul has finally joined the fray and has started clashing with the rest of the Pacific East teams -- a much needed change after many weeks of watching the exact same rosters fighting it out. Seoul's return to the Overwatch League, however, wasn't all that spotless. They were able to dispose of Hangzhou Spark with relative ease (not a surprise), but they also fell pray to a very dominant and commanding Shanghai Dragons. As things stand, most people are predicting them to be the second or third best team in the Pacific East division, but it's still too early to know whether that's an optimistic prognosis or reality.
Seoul certainly has a talented, highly dangerous line-up, but after witnessing them drop the ball against the Dragons, one has to be at least a little bit reserved. Opposite them, we have an equally solid -- albeit inherently flawed -- Guangzhou Charge. The Charge has consistently been the second best Chinese team over the last couple of weeks, but then again, seeing how we've been watching a very limited Chinese round robin, their acceptable win-loss tally doesn't tell us much.
They're good but not great, and their upcoming clash with Seoul will give us a better read on their innate potential and overall strength. Last week we've seen them get demolished by both Shanghai and New York and it definitely wasn't a good look. Because of this, we simply have to side with Seoul. It's the only logical choice at this point in time.
