Guangzhou Charge vs Seoul Dynasty

The Summer Showdown qualifiers have thus far been quite eventful, and we mean that in both good ways and bad. There are no guarantees whatsoever which — for those looking to put their hard-earned money on the line — is the absolute worst possible scenario.

We still know who’s good and why, but those facts appear to be ever so slightly malleable depending on the day and overall context. Favorites are, at times, a bit too vulnerable; underdogs, on the other hand, are fighting like their lives depend on it. And that, in short, is a very fertile “ground” for mind-boggling twists and tremendous upsets.

Fortunately, lopsided beatdowns are still a fairly frequent occurrence, and that’s exactly what we have here: a David versus Goliath scenario — one that’ll, by all means, have a different kind of outcome than the one we all grew up on.

Seoul Dynasty are, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best and most cohesive teams the Overwatch League has to offer. And, well, it’s not even close. Their skill ceiling is immense, their talent seemingly endless, and their ability to clutch it out awe-inspiring.

They are, by all means, one of the biggest favorites to claim the throne and, in doing so, etch their names in history. It’s not going to come easy, though, but they’re nonetheless well-equipped for the monumental task at hand.

The Guangzhou Charge, on the other hand, are not. They are, in every way, shape, and form, one of the worst and least capable teams in the Overwatch League, and it’s been like that for many a month. Moreover, it is a role and a position that isn’t going to change any time soon.

Our choice, therefore, is clear.
