Houston Outlaws vs Shanghai Dragons

We're off to the second week of the Overwatch League after a sensational start both in terms of fan engagement, quality matches as well as viewership count.

For our third match of the day we have a somewhat dismissible scrap between the Houston Outlaws and the Shanghai Dragons. Now this should by all means be a very one-sided fight regardless of the fact that both teams aren't performing up to expectations. The Outlaws are by all accounts an insanely talented team with tons of room to grow and improve but watching them fumble and fail is extremely frustrating even though we're just at the beginning of the season.

Thing is, being close or competitive isn't as good as winning. It never is, it's great if they can compete at the highest level but they need to find a way to translate over their leads and their raw talent into victories. At the moment they're sitting at a very disappointing 0-2 record but their second week is somewhat more forgiving so this should be the moment where the Houston boys start to pick up the tempo. While their clash with Dallas Fuel is up in the air, they do have an easy win against Shanghai.

As for the Shanghai Dragons, disappointment is somewhat of an understatement. The last we've seen from them was an abysmal showing against the Los Angeles Gladiators when they were annihilated in quick 4-0 fashion. This simply isn't a good roster given the meta and the level of competition. Individual players like Diya and Undead aren't enough to boost this team from last place and to be quite frank - there isn't a single team that they can beat right now. Perhaps their only chance is against the Florida Mayhem but even Florida took a map off of London Spitfire and managed to keep things somewhat competitive against one of the best teams in the League. The Dragons on the other hand showed absolutely nothing.

Simply said, they have to make concrete changes during the mid-season. Luckily, China has a lot of talented Overwatch players so do expect this team to go through a serious overhaul in a month or so.

Bet on Houston and bet big. The Dragons don't have the tools to compete at this level. This should be an easy 4-0 for the Outlaws.
