Immortals vs FlyQuest

Finally, to close out the day, we have quite an interesting clash between FlyQuest and Immortals. Now, frankly speaking, this is far from a premier match-up, and it's not exactly a fight that'll entertain the masses. Still, it's not without its own allure, especially if you're a fan of either organization.

The main reason why this game is so interesting is because it'll provide us with a second look at the fully completed FlyQuest line-up — LLA superstar Josedeodo has finally been united with the rest of the team in Los Angeles and, if FLY's recent performance against Evil Geniuses is any indication, we should be in for one heck of a ride. The first thing we need to mention, and it's relatively shocking in nature, is that FlyQuest is entering this clash with a metric tonne of hype after taking down the previously undefeated Evil Geniuses. That, in short, is not something anyone expected, let alone with Josedeodo who, while undeniably talented, didn't have much time to scrim with his teammates. Evil Geniuses looked nigh unstoppable last week and to see them outclassed and outmacro'd by FlyQuest is not a sight anyone expected to see.

And yet it happened. And it wasn't a fluke, either — FlyQuest were simply the better team on the day, and their players delivered big time. This especially holds true for Johnsun (former Dignitas marksman) and Licorice who were integral in FlyQuest's surprising success. The rest of the line-up carried their share of the weight as well, which was a very positive surprise and a great sign of the things to come. We knew that FlyQuest had a ton of long-term potential, but their rough start last week definitely made us second-guess things, at least to a certain extent.

Right now, however, we're all aboard the hype train. And sure, they're still volatile and inconsistent, but a short flash of brilliance is all we needed. Getting a win over Immortals will be hugely important, not just for momentum but also ranking-wise — FlyQuest want to advance further into the tournament and they should, by all means, be able to do so, barring any huge, unforeseen twist.

Immortals are relatively okay. It really depends on the day, though. Sometimes things just "click" and they deliver big time (surprisingly so, even), but that's more of a one-off kind of thing. They're one of the worst teams in North America, and even though they're far from dreadful, it's still hard to imagine them getting the win if FlyQuest come out the gates swinging, much like they did against Evil Geniuses. Still, IMT will not go down without a fight, and FlyQuest would be wise not to underestimate them.

In the end, the boys in white and green should be able to get the win without too much trouble. "Should" being the operative word here!
