Immortals vs FlyQuest
The jury's still out on FlyQuest. There's truly no other way to say it. They're obviously a great team with an impressively high skill ceiling, but that doesn't necessarily have to result in anything worthy of mentioning. We've seen it happen many a time in the past as well. Teams often look good in Best of 1s and then implode and retrogress beyond measure once the format changes.
FlyQuest is a prime example. Will this particular split make any kind of a difference in that regard? Probably not, but we're willing to give them another chance. They've won only one of their last five games which, frankly, is quite embarrassing for a team with such lofty aspirations. They're currently in sole possession of sixth place and that, in short, is a fairly realistic and appropriate position for a team as inconsistent and streaky as they are.
Fortunately for FlyQuest, Immortals are a whole lot worse, even though they, too, have the ability to upset and "overperform" when you least expect it. An upset probably isn't in the cards, but we are nonetheless wary of them coming out the gates swinging — they have nothing left to lose, after all.
With all of that being said, we're confident that FlyQuest will finally deliver and, in doing so, lock down a spot in the playoffs. There's too much on the line for them to fool around and they know it, too.
