Infinity eSports vs Cloud9
Cloud9 are underperforming — of that we're all aware — but even at their worst, they should still be more than capable of taking down Gillette Infinity and getting another win on the board. Their fall from grace was at once both seismic but also surprisingly swift — they barely got off the ground. A fairly solid showing against DWG KIA was followed up by a surprisingly dreadful one against DetonatioN FocusMe. The fact that they struggled so much simply wasn't something you'd expect, given whom they have competing under their banner. The fact that they couldn't best the LJL champions — who happen to be representing one of the youngest and least developed regions in competitive League — despite having the best Western player of all time leading the charge is quite puzzling, to say the least.
No one over at Cloud9 has been performing all that well, and that's obviously a cause for concern. Now, we know for a fact that they're better than they have shown thus far, but that matters very little if they cannot get on the same page and execute on the day. There's just no other way to put it, really. And, needless to say, their execution has been flawed and their communication seemingly non-existent, regardless of whom they were up against. Still, even if we assume that Cloud9 haven't improved whatsoever (even though they almost certainly have, as evidenced by their win over DWG KIA), they should still be more than capable enough to take the LLA champions down. There's a huge gap in terms of skill and experience between them, and if Cloud9 double down on their strengths and draft for comfort (i.e. give Perkz and Zven enough agency), they shouldn't have any trouble whatsoever against Gillette Infinity.
