London Spitfire vs Paris Eternal
We've actually reached the point at which the London Spitfire — with all their many faults and deficiencies — are actually deemed a mid-tier contender. What a tremendous twist! They really deserve a metric ton of credit for the way (and speed) at which they've grown throughout the last few weeks. They're still a gatekeeper at heart but are nonetheless exceedingly crafty and dangerous!
To make things even more impressive, they've been wrecking house ever since the Midseason Madness qualifiers began. They've won all three of their matches and they did so in mostly commanding fashion. Wins over the Florida Mayhem (3-2), Toronto Defiant (3-1), and the New York Excelsior (3-0) might not be the most historic or worthy of praise, but they are nonetheless quite impressive and they *do* speak volumes about London and their ability to perform and execute at the highest of levels.
They're actually ranked right beside the Houston Outlaws and the Altanta Reign and are just one win below the Dallas Fuel. That's... quite impressive, all things considered. Depending on how things shake out, one might even consider them as a Top 5 team which, given everyone's pre-season expectations, would be quite a tremendous achievement for the boys in blue.
In any case, they're many times better and more capable than the Paris Eternal, a team that, in all fairness, has been getting humiliated on a weekly basis. A few good maps here and there are by no means enough to warrant our benefit of the doubt, so we're going with London on this one.
