Los Angeles Gladiators vs Florida Mayhem

For our second match of the day we have an interesting clash between the Los Angeles Gladiators and the Florida Mayhem.

Yesterday was an incredibly exciting day of Overwatch as we not only saw the Gladiators take over the lead in Stage 4 with a dominant showing against the Houston Outlaws but also Florida making life very complicated for the Valiant.

They showed some signs of life and while it wasn't enough to take the series it was still a pleasant surprise. They did a lot of things right but were eventually just outperformed on an individual level. The Valiant were able to clutch things out on multiple key occasions - such as the point B last second push on Gibraltar - and emerge victorious. As many expected, Sayaplayer and Tviq were the biggest threats coming into the series and with Soon underperforming on Widowmaker it was pretty easy for Sayaplayer to hardcarry.

In short, it was a very close series that could have easily gone to game five. Fortunately for all Los Angeles fans, the Valiant's ability to adapt and persevere was on full display yesterday.

As for the Gladiators, they were finally able to become a consistent top tier team. After weeks of inconsistent performances, flashes of brilliance and moments of weakness they were able to emerge as the number one team in Stage 4 after a week and a half of play. Now while that might not seem like a lot they didn't have an easy schedule. San Francisco, Seul Dynasty and finally the Houston Outlaws and while it's hard seeing them beat New York they're rightfully sitting at the top of the standings and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. They have everything going for them - fantastic team cohesion, incredible individual performances as well as the ability to play what's meta and adapt if needed.

Obviously we're going with the Gladiators on this one. They're playing like a Top 3 team right now and they have the right players to take on any opponent and at worst make it highly competitive.
