Los Angeles Gladiators vs London Spitfire

Next up, we have yet another relatively one-sided beatdown in the making: Los Angeles Gladiators vs. London Spitfire! This isn't exactly the kind of clash you'll skip school to watch, nor will it blow anyone's mind with exceptional macro or any sort of seismic display of skill. Instead, it's just a standard, run-of-the-mill kind of clash that'll, at times, veer towards the fiesta realm. Whether it'll be competitive or not heavily depends on the London Spitfire. If they can get on the same page and mount and offensive they could, by all means, make this an interesting affair. Unfortunately, don't hold your breath for it to happen.

We still haven't seen them compete, but based on preliminary power rankings, the Spitfire are a bottom-tier dweller through and through. There's very little room for discussion too, as they obviously lack the long-term potential and talent to compete at the highest of levels. Could they eventually improve enough to climb the standings (at least ever so slightly)? Absolutely! But any potential ascension will probably be minor in nature. There's just not a lot going for them, to say the least. Regardless, the meta is still in a state of flux and everyone's experimenting a bit too much which should, in turn, allow London to make mistakes and not get punished quite as hard. Whenever things get chaotic, it's the bottom-tier dwellers and mid-tier gatekeeper who benefit the most. This is where the most mind-boggling upsets tend to happen, too.

The Gladiators on the other hand, are a fairly competitive and capable bunch. How high they'll eventually soar still remains to be seen, but there's ample potential. With Birdring, Space, and Moth -- three seasoned OWL veterans and standout performers -- the Gladiators have all the right tools to rub shoulders with the best teams in the League. The fact that they lost to the San Francisco Shock last week should in no way impede their progress or affect their overall stock — they're still a supremely talented team and should, by all means, be able to ascend to the top in due time. How fast that'll occur still remains to be seen, but we're certain it'll happen at some point.

They're heavily favored against the Spitfire and, well, there's a good reason why. They might not be the most dangerous team *right now* but they're still better than most people give them credit for and should, by all means, be able to get the "W" tonight.
