Los Angeles Gladiators vs London Spitfire
The fact that both of these teams have a .500 record should by no means fool you: they are *not* on the same level. The Los Angeles Gladiators, while perhaps bit more inconsistent than we'd like, are amongst the very best teams the Overwatch League has to offer. Their only two losses came at the hands of the Dallas Fuel and the San Francisco Shock which, frankly, speaks volumes -- and so does the fact that they went the five-game distance with *both*.
The London Spitfire, on the other hand, still haven't reached that level (nor will they, if everything pans out as expected). They're actually a fair bit better than we thought they'd be although that, in essence, means very little relative to the bigger picture and their position in the Overwatch League.
Over time they could, in theory, grow out to be a very feisty dark horse, but anything more than that feels like an overly optimistic stretch. They just don't have the depth and, odds are, they don't have the talent either -- the kind of which is necessary for them to rub shoulders with the who's who of the Overwatch League.
Their only two wins came over the Vancouver Titans and the Boston Uprising, so labeling them as anything better than a 'bottom-feeder' would be exceedingly generous on our part. Be that as it may, they're trying their hardest and they deserve a bit of praise for it.
In the end, though, betting on the Los Angeles Gladiators really is the only logical option. It might not be a clean 3-0, but win they almost certainly will.
