Los Angeles Valiant vs Chengdu Hunters

Next up, we have the Chengdu Hunters taking on the Los Angeles Valiant. Not exactly a mouth-watering match-up, but we'll take it — competitive Overwatch is a scarce commodity these days, so we'll enjoy the fiestas as much as the top-tier brawls (at least for the time being).

No one's quite too sure how high to rank these teams as so much has changed since we last saw them in action. The Valiant, for instance, have made the shift to APAC and will no longer compete in North America. That, in and of itself, is a tremendous shift that'll surely affect their chances in the long run.

Plus, of course, no one has a good enough read on what's the best and most optimal way of playing the game right now. So while Chengdu might be better on paper (and they definitely are), that might not be quite as visible once these teams spawn on the map and start trading blows. Still, the Valiant don't have much going for them and are basically a shoo-in for the bottom-tier dweller category. This might be an overly harsh way of phrasing it but it is by no means incorrect. The way this organization handled things was pretty darn dreadful, so no one should be expecting much from them going forward.

All in all, we'll side with the Hunters on this one as it's the only logical choice. That said, don't expect a particularly clean or commanding showing — we're at the very start of the season, after all.
