Los Angeles Valiant vs Philadelphia Fusion
After a few veritable barnburners we get... this. There's just nothing overly interesting about a top-tier team like Philadelphia taking on one of the weakest and least capable teams the Overwatch League has to offer. Are the Los Angeles Valiant the worst team in the Eastern region? Probably not, but the gap between them and, say, Guangzhou is so small and miniscule we might as well consider it non-existent.
They're just not a good team. There's nothing overly impressive to single out and praise either -- they've been pretty darn abysmal throughout the vast majority of the season and that, in all fairness, probably isn't going to change any time soon.
The Fusion are, obviously, much more interesting. They, too, have had their ups and downs throughout 2022, but whenever they were able to get on the same page and execute as a five-man unit we sure as heck weren't left indifferent. They have a ton of potential but we're not quite sure whether they have enough time to fully realize it. Teams like Seoul, Shanghai, and even Hangzhou for that matter have evolved at a much faster pace and, based on their current trajectory, Philadelphia probably won't be able to keep up.
Regardless, they're still a great team with a respectable skill ceiling, and if they play their cards right and come out swinging, they should definitely be able to get the better of LAV and, in doing so, get another win on the board.
