Misfits vs G2 Esports

We are mere days away from the regular portion of the Summer Split concluding, and naturally, teams are giving it their all in an attempt to make their 2020 season count. In this case, we have a rather unimportant clash between G2 Esports and Misfits Gaming primarily because the former is already locked in the playoffs with the latter failing to qualify. With nothing concrete on the line, there's not that big of a reason to tune in. Then again, both teams are insanely talented and are bound to deliver entertainment-wise even though this game carries no significance in the grand scheme of things.

G2, in particular, want to get as many wins on the board at they can in order to attain the highest ranking possible, therefore securing a more favorable road through the playoffs. It seems as though they've finally returned to form after many weeks of underperforming, and while it's still a bit too early to say they're "back", their most recent showings have impressed us in all the right ways. They're still the same old G2 we all know and love, and they have all the right tools to once again defend their LEC throne. Misfits Gaming, while certainly a talented challenger (that's also inherently flawed), simply lacks that extra bit of oomph which is necessary to tango with a giant of G2's caliber.

That doesn't mean they won't try, of course, but the odds are heavily stacked in G2's favor and there's a very good reason why that's the case. G2 has finally adapted to a more nuanced, rigid meta, and they've doubled down on their biggest strengths -- primarily Caps in the mid lane who's been having a spectacular split so far. Still, they're far from commanding execution-wise, so expect a hectic affair that should, by all means, conclude in G2's favor.
