New York Excelsior vs Los Angeles Valiant

Yet another one-sided beatdown in the making. How else could anyone describe a clash between the New York Excelsior and the Los Angeles Valiant? Now, don't mistake this for complaining, as it is not; we'll all tune in, eager as ever, to see NYXL flex over their lesser capable peers, but that's pretty much the only reason why anyone should ever tune in to this rather pedestrian APAC clash.

This might be an overly harsh way of phrasing things, but it is by no means incorrect. Be that as it may, we're still talking about a match worth your time and attention — at least if you're a fan of the New York Excelsior. The Valiant, on the other hand, don't have much to look forward to, doubly so for their fans as well (assuming they have any left). Whenever NYXL are scheduled to compete, we all have a reason to tune in. They're so incredibly good at the game and even though they haven't been as commanding or clean as most expected coming into 2021, they're still a bona fide titan of competitive Overwatch and are, by all means, a top-tier challenger worthy of respect and admiration. Although, to be fair, they have a lot of work to do if they intend on every *really* challenging for a spot near the very top of the standings as their current play leaves quite a lot to be desired.

The Valiant, on the other hand, are one of the few bottom-tier dwellers and, by the looks of it, that won't change any time soon. They pale in comparison to most of their peers. And, naturally, the gap between them and NYXL is so darn vast and immense that it might as well be called a canyon. We're talking about the biggest and most noticeable of dichotomies — it's so pronounced that there's very little use in talking about it, so we'll just cut to the case: we're siding with the NYXL Dragons on this one as it's the only logical option. The Valiant might be able to put up a bigger fight than most expect, but anything more than that feels like an overly optimistic (if not ludicrous) stretch.
