Philadelphia Fusion vs Hangzhou Spark
The Eastern region still has numerous question marks surrounding it, and much of the same goes for its peculiar (but most capable) teams. Take the Philadelphia Fusion, for instance. They mopped the floor with Shanghai and Guangzhou but also lost to Seoul and Chengdu. That's... quite a strange tally. A 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Valiant was to be expected, but the same cannot be said for their *previous* results. They are extremely talented, there's no doubt about it, but just how good they really are and how high they'll be able to soar still remains to be seen -- and the same holds true for a good number of their peers and adversaries as well.
Hangzhou, on the other hand, are much easier to read and fully assess. Their wins over Seoul, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and the Valiant speak volumes. Their sole defeat came at the hands of Shanghai which, in all fairness, can and *should* be justified, what with the Dragons being one of the biggest favorites to win the the whole shebang. They did, at least, trade blows for five long, drawn-out maps, so even if is a gap between them it is neither humongous *nor* insurmountable. Hangzhou are, therefore, one of the best teams in the Eastern region and, by proxy, the Overwatch League.
The odds are perhaps a bit too lopsided in our opinion, what with Philadelphia being as dangerous and able as they are, but the better team *is* being favored and, well, there's a very good reason why. We still don't know whether they'll be able to leave a mark in the grand scheme of things (and it's still way too early to even *attempt* to predict such a thing), but Hangzhou *are* the better team at this point in time.
Our choice, therefore, is clear.
