Philadelphia Fusion vs San Francisco Shock

For our first match of the day we have a clash between the Philadelphia Fusion and the San Francisco Shock.

Now this is pretty exciting match mainly due to the fact that we will be seeing Philadelphia play on the big stage once again. After their last two matches it's almost impossible to really gauge their skill level.

They looked incredible against the Houston Outlaws but when the competition stiffened and they faced the London Spitfire there was almost no cohesion, no synergy. They were strong individually (depending on the map mostly), with ShadowBurn having a couple of standout moments on his staple Genji, and Carpe doing a ton of work on Widow and Tracer. The unsung hero for their performance overall was surely Poko, a player that has improved leaps and bounds and actually has some of the best D.Va stats in the whole league - averaging 2,66 self-destruct kills per 10 minutes. (no other D.Va player has more than 2)

They managed to stay a bit competitive on Junkertown but they were completely blown away by the Spitfire when they stepped foot on Lunar Horizon. With London it always seems like they're not as strong but it's always a slow start, rather than a lack of cohesion or skill. Much of the same can be said for Ilios and Numbani.

Their inconsistency is somewhat understandable as they're still a fairly young team. What we witnessed was their highs and their lows, but luckily the highs that they displayed were worthy of a playoff caliber team. If they play their cards right, they could be one of the best teams in the League. (behind the Korean deity, that is)

Now the San Francisco Shock didn't impress much last week but at least they managed to salvage a win against the Shanghai Dragons but even that single win was extremely hard fought. They were sloppy and quite frankly unimpressive. Overall if you removed the name tags and skins from the game you wouldn't really know it was a top tier competitive match but perhaps your average platinum-diamond game.

They have ways to win, and unlike teams like Houston and Florida who are winless, at least they managed to win at least once. (twice if you count their preseason matches as well) With the Mercy meta slowly fading, Lucio specialists like Dhak will surely prosper, and paired with babybay and Nevix at the DPS helm, they could be one of the better lower tier teams that could surprise from time to time.

Sadly for any Shock fans, regardless of how badly Philadelphia lost to the London Spitfire, they're still a highly capable, insanely talented team with better DPS and tank lineups, so expect this one to go in Fusion's favor.
