Seoul Dynasty vs London Spitfire
For our first match of the day we have an absolute barn burner - Seoul Dynasty against the London Spitfire. Now we shouldn't waste any time talking about these teams, these are the titans of the Overwatch League and with good reason. Both teams have some of the best players in their respective roles in the entire world.
This is an incredibly important match for both Korean giants as there are only three matches left of competitive Stage 2 play, and every single match and even map win could be the difference between getting to the playoffs or not. Seoul is in a somewhat better situation, they're currently ranked second only behind the New York Excelsior - the team that handed them their only loss this week and they have a better map differential when compared to London. London on the other hand lost twice already in the last three weeks - against the Houston Outlaws (2-3) and the Gladiators. (1-3) They've looked good every single time, even in their losses however they weren't that consistent and they rarely adapted quickly enough.
That was perhaps most visible yesterday in their match against the San Francisco Shock on Hollywood. They tried a triple tank comp on their attack however they simply couldn't pass through Danteh's Junkrat mine spam and Babybay's Soldier 76 on the high ground. It took them almost four minutes before they finally swapped to Moira but it was too late as they weren't able to counter Shock's defense. They were too stubborn to swap and adapt and it wasn't the first time. If they struggled like that against a middle/low tier team like San Francisco that is still finding it's groove, how do they expect to fare against a revitalized Seoul?
For London every single map matters as they're two map wins behind the Los Angeles Gladiators so they're looking to dominate tonight however it's highly questionable whether or not they will be able to do so against such a complex, highly skilled and adaptable Seoul Dynasty. Even though Seoul lost against New York a couple of days ago it was an absolute masterclass on display from both teams. It was a game of inches and clutch plays from players like Saebyeolbe eventually sealed Seoul's fate.
Seoul is highly motivated and they're finally stepping up after Mercy got out of the meta. Pair that with the fact that Munchkin stepped up immensely and can actually go blow-for-blow with some of the best Tracers in the League and you have a very capable, frightening Seoul roster.
We're going with the Dynasty here however it will surely be an insanely close match that could by all means go the five map distance.
