Shanghai Dragons vs Boston Uprising
For our last match of the day we have a clash on the loser's bracket - Shanghai Dragons vs. Boston Uprising.
Both teams faced two gigantic teams, with Boston Uprising falling to the New York Excelsior and Shanghai Dragons to Seoul Dynasty so this will be the perfect opportunity for fans and analysts to gauge their skill level more realistically.
Many expected from Boston Uprising to just roll over and die against the New York Excelsior but they managed to stay somewhat competitive, even taking Oasis 2-0. Players like Gamsu and DreamKazper had a couple of standout moments but failed to leave a bigger mark than just a single map win and a couple of close holds. Overall they fought the best they could, but it was in vain when all was said and done.
Shanghai Dragons on the other hand showed a lot of promise but they will need more time in order to develop synergy. Individual members like Roshan and Mg stood out in certain moments of the series but overall, as a team they were far too out-of-sync in order to contest against a giant like Seoul Dynasty. Luckily for them their next opponent is considered to be a bit "sub-par" (in comparison to the majority of competing OWL teams) so they will get the chance to show the world their worth.
A big point that has to be mentioned is the fact that the Dragons didn't manage to scrim any existing Overwatch League team but were limited to Chinese teams over the course of the last few months. While that's not catastrophic by any means they surely didn't have the chance to play against top tier opposition. Regardless, they looked fairly solid against Seoul, and the odds are against them so this might be a good time to go for a safe bet.
