SK Gaming vs G2 Esports
Leave it to G2 Esports to outclass MAD Lions on the opening day of the Summer Split and then drop a game to Schalke 04 just twenty-four hours later. What a supremely vexing couple of days -- don't even *attempt* to understand what happened as you won't be able to conjure up any kind of logical conclusion.
That's G2 in a nutshell. They tend to fool around, to experiment, to limit test at the strangest of moments, and to implode when you least expect them to. Betting on G2 is not for the faint of heart. They're not inconsistent, mind you, but rather unhinged and a bit too crazy for their own good. And, well, that loss to Schalke still doesn't make any sense.
They're scheduled to take on SK Gaming next which, in all fairness, is about the easiest match-up they could've gotten. SK did not look good over the last two days and, needless to day, they're not predicted to accomplish much over the coming days and weeks. With such a severely gimped roster, it's nigh impossible to envision a world in which they find even the slightest amount of success. Are they the worst team in the LEC right now? It's still a bit too early to tell, but it sure does look like it.
Vitality have been surging quite a bit and the same goes for Misfits. Excel and Astralis are also doing a fair bit better than expected, whereas SK did next to nothing to impress and warrant our benefit of the doubt going forward.
Does that mean G2 will blow them out of the water? Not necessarily, seeing just how crazy they've been throughout the year. Be that as it may, they're still one of the best and most talented teams in the history of the region and should, by all means, be able to get the "W" tonight.
