SK Gaming vs G2 Esports
This is where things get a lot more precarious. G2 are the better team. Of that we're all aware. The only problem, however, is that they have absolutely no reason to tryhard — they've not only secured their spot in the playoffs but have also become the first team to qualify for the 2022 World Championship. They're also crazy, unhinged, and in dire need of some fun, which means that they could, by all means, end up drafting the most ludicrous team comp imaginable.
Think Soraka, Teemo, Dr. Mundo, and the like. That's their M.O. and we've seen it many a time in the past as well. Who knows what could happen — there's quite a lot of trepidation lingering in the air and, well, there's a very good reason why.
SK Gaming, on the other hand, will play this one game and then "close up shop." Their 2022 season will officially conclude. There will be no postseason, no Worlds appearance, nothing — just a long reprieve they may or may not have "earned." They won't just roll over and surrender, though: they want to end things on a high note. They want to make a statement and, in doing so, potentially save their jobs. That's not a negligible reason and goal to fight for, so expect a hectic, skirmish-heavy affair that could, by all means, end in a twist.
