Team Dignitas vs FlyQuest

For our fourth match of the day, we have a somewhat alluring clash between FlyQuest and Team Dignitas. Now, the sole reason *why* it's so alluring is because we'll get to see a brand-new version of FlyQuest in action. Given how they've maneuvered through the most recent off-season, a lot of people want to see what they'll bring to the table, and rightfully so. To lose your entire Top 2 line-up and still manage to assemble a roster worthy of respect and admiration is nothing short of awe-inspiring. And, frankly, FlyQuest made it look *easy.*

Now, one thing needs to be said: no one's expecting them to accomplish as much in 2021 as they did 2020. That's just the nature of it all. They've regressed in terms of potential, whereas teams like Cloud9, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves improved in key, nuanced ways. Still, they're basically a shoo-in for Top 5 which is more than acceptable given the number of rookies they're going to field in 2021.

Dignitas, on the other hand, has pretty much regressed in every conceivable way. And this isn't a knock on them or anything, but rather a fair assessment of their long-term potential (or lack thereof). They weren't all that impressive in 2020 either, and they're bound to end up even worse this time around. Their two seasoned veterans (Dardoch and Aphromoo) are fairly acceptable from a performance standpoint. The rest of the team, however, leaves us wanting in every which way. On the one hand, Dignitas is looking to build up a couple of rookies and, hopefully, strike gold. On the other, they're all but guaranteed to fail. None of their less experienced players will be set up for success. Of that you can be certain. Dignitas might look a bit better over time, but it just won't be enough -- not against the many LCS teams that have improved in numerous ways. By all means, Dignitas is a bottom-tier dweller in the making. They'll try their hardest, but they'll fail nonetheless.

FlyQuest, therefore, is the only reason why we'll tune in, and you should too. They'll field three Cloud9 members (one seasoned veteran and two exceptional Academy players), along with a hyped young jungler from Latin America, and a fantastic marksman who shined bright last year despite playing for one of the worst teams in the region (which just so happens to be Dignitas). They'll have more synergy than Dignitas, along with better players, and a higher skill ceiling. Therefore, we're siding with the boys in white and green on this one. It just makes a lot more sense, although it probably won't come as easy as some people are expecting. Dignitas will surely fight from minute one, and they deserve at least some semblance of respect.
