Team Liquid vs Evil Geniuses
Team Liquid vs. Evil Geniuses seems a lot more hype than it actually is. On paper, it is a clash between two premier organizations, both of which are fielding exceptional rosters stacked with talent and potential. In actuality, though, they've both inherently flawed and have entered the second half of 2021 with a lot less hype and momentum than expected.
Liquid, for one, have benched their star top laner Alphari and the difference in play and potential is quite obvious. Jenkins has been doing incredibly well, there's no doubt about it, but he's still nowhere near as capable and dangerous as the man who's currently warming the bench. By the same token, the rest of Liquid are nowhere near as vigorous and commanding as they had been back in Spring, and it's hard to fully grasp why that's the case.
Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, have been even worse. Heck, we're putting it mildly here. They've been about as good as the Golden Guaridans which, in all fairness, is as far from a compliment as it gets. They've made numerous egregious mistakes and have been downright dreadful ever since the Summer Split began. Their volatile nature often tends to creep up at the most random of moments, and you can never fully predict when that'll happen. Heck, they probably don't know it either. They did finally get a win on the board yesterday, but they're still one of the most inconsistent and flawed teams in North America.
So, naturally, we have to go with Liquid on this one. They're not the epitome of stability either, but they've done a lot more thus far and should, by all means, be able to get the "W" against a shockingly out-of-sync EG.
