Team Liquid vs Golden Guardians

Continuing the trend of relatively interesting (but far from mind-blowing) match-ups, we have Team Liquid vs. Golden Guardians. Now, frankly speaking, this clash *does* leave a lot to be desired, but that doesn't mean it's uninteresting in nature or, better yet, that it doesn't carry a lot of significance for both of these teams.

Team Liquid, for instance, need each and every single win they can get. They're not at risk of losing out on the playoffs, but they're not sitting comfortably either — now it's all about how high they'll rank once all is said and done. And getting a favorable match-up once the playoffs come around could heavily affect their chances of leaving a mark and ultimately hoisting the LCS trophy. They haven't been all that impressive lately and other than a couple of moments of brilliance, they looked like a pale shadow of their former (LCS Lock-In) selves. And sure, they're still an absolute behemoth in terms of overall talent and long-term potential, but these exceptional virtues and strengths mean very little if they're left unharnessed.

They have all the right tools and players for the job, but they've been fumbling a bit more often than not for reasons that still elude us. No one's quite sure what's going on, but we're betting they'll figure it out sooner rather than later. How could they not, given their vast amounts of talent and experience? They're in desperate need of momentum, and fortunately for TL, they'll have a shot at attaining it — the Golden Guardians are arguably the weakest team of the bunch and they have easily exploitable (and quite glaring) weaknesses. Beating GGS shouldn't prove to be all that complicated, and Team Liquid know exactly what they need to do (and how) to get their hands raised.
