Team SoloMid vs Cloud9

The kind of clash we always yearn for, regardless of whos playing or what the meta's like: Cloud9 vs. Team SoloMid is a match-ups that's as old as time, and it still hasn't gotten stale. We're talking about two of the biggest and most recognizable brands in North America, and two teams that haven turns at the throne for what feels like an eternity.

It really doesn't get any better than this. And, fortunately for us, both organizations have championship-worthy line-ups, so a fun, skirmish-heavy clash is all but guaranteed. Who'll win it, though, is anyone's guess. The sample size that is currently at our disposal is no longer viable given just how volatile each and every single team has been thus far. And, well, Team SoloMid and Cloud9 are no exception. They've looked both incredible but also downright dreadful, depending on the day and opponent. To make matters even worse, you can never be too sure which shade of these two teams will come and play: the clean and commanding one, or the one that implodes at the first sign of trouble?

It's a fun match-up, there's no doubt about it, but it's also a wholly frustrating one as predicting the outcome feels nigh impossible. Both teams have what it takes to emerge victorious, and yet they've made so many egregious mistakes over the last couple of weeks that we cannot in good conscience make any sort of confident prediction. Team SoloMid have had a bit more hype overall and they've done more to warrant our benefit of the doubt, but we know for a fact that Cloud9 are better, although that doesn't mean much if they cannot get on the same page and execute as well as they need to in order to take TSM down.

If you're just a fan of competitive League — and those oh-so-juicy LCS narratives — then you have nothing to fear. If, on the other hand, you're looking to put your money on the line, skipping this one would perhaps be the best course of action. We'll side with Team SoloMid on this one but we're not doing so with any concrete amount of confidence. They're not necessarily better than Cloud9 overall, but right now, at the time of this writing, they're playing cleaner League of Legends, so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and hope for the best.
