Team Vitality vs G2 Esports

With so many things being in a state of flux, we really need to think twice before choosing which games to bet on. There's very little rhyme or reason behind what's going on in the Western scene, and with most top-tier teams dropping games left, right, and center, betting has become far more treacherous than ever before.

In these confusing times, we look towards the best and most stacked LEC team in history for solace: G2 Esports. Granted, G2 has been looking mighty inconsistent as well, but this game could prove to be crucial in their attempt to reach the playoffs. The defending champions have dropped four games in a row before taking down Rogue last week and have looked surprisingly bad regardless of whom they were up against. Watching them fumble and fail to such a degree is not a pretty sight, and to make matters even worse, we don't know whether they're just improvising and experimenting in an attempt to diversify their arsenal even further, or if they're actually struggling for whatever reason. They're also prone to dropping games because of their inherent tendency to fool around and draft the most illogical (i.e. fun) team comps and throwing caution out the window. You rarely know which shade of G2 Esports will come out on stage to compete, but it's fair to assume that they'll no longer fool around now that they're below a .500 record.

The race for playoffs is insanely close, and with so many teams stepping up, G2 Esports cannot afford to experiment any longer. They need almost every single win they can get, and that's easier said than done at this point, even for a team as talented as stacked as G2. They're underperforming both individually but also as a five-man unit, with uncharacteristically bad decisions in-game and sloppy engages across the board. Still, they've always dominated once their backs were against the wall, and that's what we're banking on here as well. G2 plays best when there's no room for error, and with their playoff spot on the line, it's fair to expect their players to be on their best behavior. Expect comfort picks and proven strats this time around from the moment they spawn on the Summoner's Rift.

Vitality, on the other hand, is no slouch -- of that everyone's aware, but they're still inherently flawed, and quite dramatically so. At times, when they get off on the right foot, they're able to hide some of their biggest weaknesses through stellar play from their bottom lane; but more often than not, they fail to impress in any way, shape, or form. That's not due to a lack of trying either, but rather because they're just not a particularly impressive squad. Their win conditions are obvious and so are their weaknesses. They're better than most people give them credit, but that means very little seeing how they're pretty much guaranteed to end up as a bottom four team.

If G2 Esports do what they do best, this shouldn't be anything more than a one-sided shellacking. All of that said, stranger things have happened recently, so proceed with caution.
