Team Vitality vs G2 Esports

Finally, to close out the day, we have an absolute banger: G2 Esports vs. Team Vitality! This is an extremely important game for both teams as its outcome will answer two of the biggest questions lingering in the air:

Are G2 on the up and up?

Will this talented Vitality line-up *actually* be able to trade blows with the “big dogs?”

The way we perceive these teams will heavily be affected by the outcome of this one game. G2 have just outclassed Rogue with staggering ease, but we still need a bigger sample size before we can rightfully proclaim that they’re “back.” As for Vitality, they’ve been both hot and cold thus far, with some incredible highs and fairly dreadful lows. It’s the same old Vitality of yore: exciting, but also staggeringly volatile. We love watching them because they’re the most aggressive team in Europe, but they’re also impossible to predict as you can never be too certain which shade of Vitality will step foot on stage to compete.

G2 obviously have more momentum behind their backs, but they’ve also been mighty inconsistent, so the fact that they’re better across the board doesn’t have to mean much in the grand scheme of things. Be that as it may, doubting them feels nigh impossible after seeing just how easily they disposed of Rogue — a team that’s still tied for first place. It was vintage G2, and, frankly, Rogue didn’t stand a chance. It was also a welcome reminder of just how good the former “Kings of Europe” really are whenever they get on the same page. Once that happens, there’s no team in the LEC that can keep up.

Unfortunately, they haven’t been all that cohesive or dangerous thus far, but at least they’re showing signs of life so there’s still no reason to sound the alarms. Far from it, in fact. Hopefully they’ll be able to take this newfound burst of momentum and finish the regular portion of the split off strong. Vitality will surely challenge the former “Kings” in a myriad of ways, but if G2 draft well and execute early on, they’ll almost surely be able to get the win.
