Team Vitality vs Misfits
Next up, we have a clash that is perhaps equally as interesting (or uninteresting, depending on who you ask) as the one preceding it. Misfits Gaming vs. Team Vitality is yet another potential blowout in the making. Frankly speaking, there's no big reason to tune in, regardless of the final outcome.
Even if Vitality pull off the upset, it won't change anything in the grand scheme of things. They're still the worst team in the region (statistically speaking) and they're not going to move from that unflattering position any time soon. Misfits, on the other hand, have already solidified their spot as a playoff contender, and the only thing left now is to see how high they'll rank once the ninth week of play comes to an end.
So in that sense, any outcome is a fairly positive one for Misfits, although it's obvious they would much prefer to get the win. Vitality haven't looked that bad overall, especially not in the early game. Still, they lack the experience and the skill to actually transition from one part of the game to another without making any huge, game-deciding blunders. That's Vitality pretty much in a nutshell. If you give them a big enough lead, though, they'll certainly capitalize, but even then the odds of them going for the right play and actually executing are slim if not non-existent. Still, they want to play spoiler and upset teams above them, now that they have nothing else to play for. Those who underestimate Vitality could end up losing, so it'll be interesting to see whether or not they're given the (slight) respect they deserve.
Misfits, on the other hand, have already proven their worth, although they didn't look good over the last couple of weeks. Or, rather, they did look good but nowhere near as consistent and stable as in weeks prior. So right now, no one's quite sure how high to rank them. With Rogue dropping a game to SK Gaming, Misfits are in prime position to overtake them in the standings and take sole possession of fourth place. That would be a seismic triumph, especially considering the amount of doubt everyone had regarding Misfits' chances coming into 2020. Fortunately, they have all the right tools to get the win and outclass Vitality without breaking much of a sweat.
If Febiven steps up from last week, Misfits will definitely be able to get the win in one-sided fashion.
