Toronto Defiant vs London Spitfire
Yet another wholly fascinating match-up, one that is bound to deliver in all the right ways. Funnily enough, we already saw these two teams clash off mere days ago, and it wasn't particularly close. The London Spitfire were better across the board — they had a much better game plan in mind and were noticeably more cohesive which, naturally, helped out tremendously when things got down to the wire.
In fact, we're sort of blown away by London and the incredible growth which they've displayed throughout the entire season. They might not be a towering giant per se, but whatever they might lack in depth or nuance they more than make up for in grit and a feistiness that is seldom seen with of their caliber. They couldn't care less for the odds or the fact that no one's giving them much of a shot. In fact, they seem to revel in their underdog status — one which has, paradoxically, served as quite a big boon to their play. They exceed expectations on a weekly basis, and while they're still rough around the edges (and, in certain aspects, quite limited), they've nonetheless done more than enough to warrant our respect and benefit of the doubt.
And, well, they're undeniably better than Toronto. This gap between them might not be epic or insurmountable, but it *does* exist, which is why it's so baffling to see the oddsmakers still favor Toronto. The Spitfire beat the Defiant just a few days ago, so why in the world should *they* ever be deemed the underdog? It makes no sense whatsoever but we're definitely not going to complain. It might not be a "safe" bet per se, but not a whole lot can change in a few days' time, so we're obviously going to side with London on this one.
