Preview
Mousesports is definitely the name that really stands out as the biggest name in this tournament. With their triumphant ESL ONE New York journey, they are the clear favorites. It will be fun to se how they handle this type of situation.
But don't think for a second that this is a lower tier tournament. There are so many teams here that are trying to break through to the very top of the counterstrike (or in Gambits case trying to get back there). One could argue that BIG and North are already there with some great LAN results in recent months. But they need a bit more stability in my eyes before. Fragsters, Imperial, Optic and Ence are very exciting teams and on the rise in the European scene.
Both North American qualified teams have kept surprising people with solid Lan results. Don't underestimate the results their practice and dedication can yield. I can't wait to see which version of TYLOO and Gambit shows up. They are two of the more volatile teams out there. Sometimes they have brilliant timings and crisp aim with headshots everywhere. And sometimes they look like the worst matchmaking team you have played on.
Five highlights
- North under the leadership of Cadian
- Watching Tyloo trying to do something crazy
- BIG - have they overachieved or not?
- Can complexity win on other maps than Inferno?
- Mousesports - does every match have to be even
Five Awpers that could change the tournament
- Oscar - Mousesports
- Cerq - NRG
- Smooya - BIG
- Jugi - Optic
- xxcurate - Tyloo
Favorites - Mousesports
Should be unhappy outside top4: Tyloo, Big, North, Tyloo, Optic and Hellraisers
Dark Horse: Complexity, Nrg and Ence
